Description: The Kids on the Block of San Diego (KOBSD) are a group of life-sized puppets representing children
with a variety of physical and learning disabilities, medical conditions and social problems. The Kids
are an exciting, visually stimulating group of characters that teach children about the beautiful
diversity of people in our world. The goal of KOBSD is to help children develop a healthy respect
for all people and to learn to value themselves. Kids on the Block puppet programs teach acceptance
and appreciation of medical and physical disabilities, educational differences, social issues and
cultural diversity by using honest, entertaining dialog to address these issues. Topics include:
Autism, Bullying and School Safety, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Healthy Eating/ Healthy Lifestyles,
Alcohol, Tobacco, and Drug Prevention, Learning DÂ
