Literature Comes to Life
Description: Students experience the wonder and fun of Childrens Literature by participating as Storybook
Characters in four award-winning stories. 90 children from the audience (every classroom receives 2-
6 costumes) wear exquisite costumes made by costume designers and portray the different storybook
characters The entire audience participates using Creative Drama, Dance and Oral Language. The
books unfold and the students see the characters step out of the book and help make the literature
come to life. Literacy and whole language development are the main focus. Character Traits i.e.
Honesty, Responsibility, Kindness, Friendship, Caring, etc. are an integral part of the program. Good
Morals are reinforced. An exciting, interactive and hands-on experience the children will never forget.
They fall in love with books and are motivated to read with understanding. Everyone participates and
makes LITERATURE COME TO LIFE!
Requirements: Microphone, two tables, stage, aisle down middle of assembly area, one chair, one large cafeteria
table, one music stand, cafeteria.
Visual Arts Description:
The visual arts school assemblies are created with art forms such as ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, crafts, photography, video, filmmaking, and architecture. Many artistic disciplines that will help your students get more engaged and understand all aspects of the visual arts as well as arts of other types.
