Drummers Without Borders
Description: This is an engaging, multicultural, percussion assembly program. Students are introduced to a variety
of drums and many other percussion instruments. The cultural origin, evolution, and construction of
each instrument is described. The audience learns concepts of rhythm and tempo as well as how to
create their own instrument from recycled materials. Students are invited on stage to play a set
alongside the artist while the other students participate in call and response and other rhythm making
activities.
Requirements: Auditorium, multipurpose room, or outside space.
Visual Arts Description:
The visual arts school assemblies are created with art forms such as ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, crafts, photography, video, filmmaking, and architecture. Many artistic disciplines that will help your students get more engaged and understand all aspects of the visual arts as well as arts of other types.
