Playwrights Project
Description: Humor, sensitivity and imagination sparkle in “Lost in Words,” the story of 15-year-old Sylvia, a
Spanish-speaker who relocates from Mexico to California and struggles to negotiate a new school,
language and culture. Jim Knable, a former winner of our annual California Young Playwrights
Contest and now a professional playwright, wrote the script and songs. The play is performed by
professional actors in English with some Spanish interspersed. A talk-bask with the audience is also
available at no additional cost.

Visual Arts Description:
The visual arts school assemblies are created with art forms such as ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, crafts, photography, video, filmmaking, and architecture. Many artistic disciplines that will help your students get more engaged and understand all aspects of the visual arts as well as arts of other types.
