Performances are more than the typical assembly program. These age appropriate performances
connect directly to District and State content standards in the Visual and Performing Arts,
Literacy/Language Arts and History/Social Science. These programs introduce students to a broad
variety and depth of arts education experiences. Music programs range from classical western brass
and woodwind quintets to West African drumming, Brazilian samba, Japanese kyoto and American
bluegrass music. Dance programs include classical ballet, modern dance, hip-hop, Korean and
Philippine dance. Theatre programs range from Shakespeare to Chicano Street theatre for middle and
high school. Among the visual art programs is a mural-making residency. There are also teacher
staff development workshops in theatre, mime, storytelling, dance, music, puppetry and visual art.¬†
Visual Arts Description:The visual arts school assemblies are created with art forms such as ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, crafts, photography, video, filmmaking, and architecture. Many artistic disciplines that will help your students get more engaged and understand all aspects of the visual arts as well as arts of other types.
